If you want to work with one of the IMPRS faculty members you are always welcome to pursue independent funding. The scholarship database offered by DAAD may help you to find a suitable program. Please also check our institute website for open positions.

2) for those who are already doctoral researchers with an IMPRS faculty member

Doctoral researchers who want to become members of the IMPRS but who have not gone through our international recruitment procedure have to submit a written application backed up by at least two IMPRS faculty members  (who, upon admission, will be the official supervisors of the doctoral research project). The IMPRS selection board will decide about the applications for admission. Applications have to be submitted to the IMPRS office within two months after the PhD project starting date.
