Mentoring Program

All IMPRS students are supervised by a PhD advisory committee (PAC). The thesis committee usually consists of the main supervisor, a direct supervisor in the lab (a postdoc/group leader or senior PhD of the group) and a third supervisor from a different department or institute. PAC meetings are mandatory and held six months after the start of the PhD project and subsequently once a year. The aim of these meetings is to discuss the status and future milestone of the project.  Prior to the meeting the doctoral student prepares a progress report that is the basis for discussion and that is signed by all at the end of the meeting.
